But how do you do that in Framer?
In this short guide, you’ll learn how to set title tags and meta descriptions for all your pages in Framer, both regular and CMS-based.
Sounds good? Let’s start!
How To Edit Page Titles And Meta Descriptions On Regular Pages
Click on the settings button on the top right
Under “Page Settings”, click on the page you want to edit
Now edit the page title and description as you wish
Save your changes
Publish the updated version of the website
How To Edit Page Titles And Meta Descriptions On CMS Pages
Now that we know how to edit page settings on regular pages let’s look at how you do that within a CMS collection:
Within your CMS collection, create two text fields that will be used as page titles and meta descriptions for that page (you can also use existing ones; I use the same field for both my blog titles and relative page title)
Click on the settings button on the top right
Under “Page Settings”, find your CMS pages, which are usually named “[CMS name] Pages”
In the “Title” field, wrap the variable name you’ve previously created between double curly brackets like this: “{{ variable name }}”
Repeat the same process for the “Page Description” field
Save your changes
Publish the updated version of the website
Troubleshooting
I’ve Followed All The Steps But Google Still Shows The Old Settings
Even if you’ve updated your page settings correctly, Google will not know about it immediately.
It might take some time before Google re-crawls your website and discovers you’ve updated some pages.
However, there’s a shortcut you can take.
Head to Google Search Console, type the URL of the updated page in the “URL inspection tool”, and submit a new indexing request.
How Do I Know If It’s Working?
Just below the page settings where you edited the title and the description, Framer shows you a preview of the website snippet that you can use to check whether it’s working or not.
